Flexible Cancellations

Cancellation Policy

cancellation_policy policy
  • All tickets except "advance" tickets can be cancelled before you travel. A small administration fee of £10 will be deducted from the refund which will be processed in no more than 28 days.
  • "Advance" tickets, which are the cheapest tickets, usually sold as single (one-way) fares, are non-refundable and non-amendable. These can't be cancelled or changed after booking.
  • If your train is cancelled or delayed and you decide not to travel, you will be entitled to a full refund without an administration fee. You should apply for this refund within 28 days of the expiry of the ticket.
  • If you have "anytime" or "off-peak" tickets and decide not to use them for any reason, you can cancel before the departure date. An administrative fee of £10 will be charged.
  • Season tickets can also be refunded, but the amount you get back will be based on the cost of a ticket for the time you used plus a £10 administrative fee. For example, if you used a monthly season ticket for a week, the refund would be the cost of the weekly ticket minused from what you paid, then the £10 subtracted from the remainder.
  • The refund period for season tickets is a bit more flexible, but still, you must apply no later than four weeks after the last date you could have used it.
  • All refunds need to be applied for from the original place of purchase.
